How often do you find yourself talking yourself out of what you say you really want?
For example: you promise yourself for the 1985th time that you're REALLY going to make it to the gym in the morning, but when your alarm goes off, you tell yourself "oh, i've already worked out twice this week. good enough. i could use the extra sleep." and you snooze your alarm.
Here's the tricky thing about the way we bargain with ourselves: our excuses are actually valid sometimes.
But every time we bargain with ourselves and take the easy way out, we lose.
QUIT bargaining with yourself. Quit playing small. Start showing up, start making the hard choice. And report back to me with how freakin' awesome your life is after you start doing this consistently.
In this episode, we cover:
- my tip of the week: my 100 day consistency challenge (tag me on IG if you try it!)
- the different ways we bargain with ourself and create excuses that keep us from reaching our goals, in spite of what we say we really want to achieve
- how to choose LONG TERM gratification over short term satisfaction
- why it's important to choose the HARD thing and what that actually looks like in your daily life (i.e. choosing to walk vs. drive, choosing to wake up early vs. sleeping in, etc.)
If you want a recap of this podcast in written form, you can read this blog post.
